Detox is a popular way to boost your weight loss.
Think of it as a big free way…there is a crash with debri scattered across the road, traffic is slowed WAY down…almost to a stop. Clear the highway, remove the debri and traffic can flow freely again. That’s the power of a detox!
The word detox might bring up thoughts of nasty tasting slimy green drinks, or a whole bunch of expensive pills. But there is a much easier way.
One of the most natural, inexpensive and easiest ways to detox is dry brushing.
Your skin is your largest organ. Almost always it’s the first place that we see our body is out of balance…acne, eczema, excessively oily or dryness all are an outward reaction that there is something going on inside of our body that is trying to get out. Taking care of our skin is so important! Dry brushing is one of the very best things you can do for your skin as well as your lymphatic system.
According to Dr. Sara Gottfried M.D. “Detoxing means cleaning out the body — removing toxins, clearing out your jammed hormone receptors, and resetting key hormones. One of the most common obstacles to detox is a sluggish lymphatic system.”
This simple, relaxing treatment stimulates your lymphatic system to remove waste from your cells such as environmental toxins, and disease causing bacteria.
What you most likely will notice if you choose to do dry brushing on a regular basis:
Softer, brighter skin, reduction in cellulite, much less inflammation (puffiness), more energy, a general feeling of wellbeing.
What most likely is happening that you won’t see:
You are removing toxins from your skin. Stimulating your lymphatic system so your body can drain and remove toxins more freely.
Exfoliating your skin makes it able to absorb nutrients. By shedding the dead skin with exfoliation your new skin cells are able to renew and your skin is brighter, younger looking!
Here’s How to Dry Brush:
Start at you feet, brush the bottoms of my feet up your legs in long, smooth strokes. Always brush toward the heart/chest area where the lymph system drains.
Repeat the same process with the arms, starting with the palms of the hands and brushing up the arm toward the heart.
Brush each section of skin about 10 times with soft long strokes.
On the stomach and armpits, brush in a circular clockwise motion.
End with brushing the upper chest area in a clockwise motion.
Shower to remove the dead skin. Then, be sure to finish off with a pure oil to re hydrate your skin such as pure castor or coconut oil.
Now that is a detox you can enjoy every time you shower, no nose plugging so you can swallow something nasty necessary.
