This virus is having a huge impact on the world. Deaths, illness, businesses having to close, schools closed, and on and on.

All of the the above causes a lot of stress on people, not to mention the panic in the media!

These times are stressful for many people and may be having a serious impact on your health whether you realize it or not.

Stress is a killer.

Depression, anxiety, heart attach, stroke, eating disorders, digestive issues such as crohns, ulcerative colitis, insomnia, some experts even say cancer, and more are all linked to stress. The stress from COVID19 is affecting a lot of people, even if they have been no where near the actual virus. Stress is not to be taken lightly. What stresses one person out may not be what stresses another but if you have signs of stress, and who doesn’t at this point, it’s critical that you take action to alleviate it.

Signs that you may be stressed due to COVID19: racing heart, upset stomach, tense muscles, chest pain, head aches, very tired, diarrhea, clenched jaw, unusually emotional.

What you can do about it.

Mindset is EVERYTHING. Next week I will share what that is and how you can shift yours into an amazing state of bliss, even in times of stress.  For now, choose to focus on the good about this situation.  Make a list of all the good things about what you are going through right now.  Gratitude is the biggest factor in having a good mindset. Each night before you go to bed write at least 3 new things that you are thankful for from that day.

Do things that release the hormone dopamine for you.  Basically dopamine is the feel good hormone in your body and you release that in different ways.

Exercise is proven to release dopamine in your body, so get moving!  Do this outside in the sunshine and fresh air and you will get even more mental health benefits of it!  For more benefits of exercise check out my blog post on that!

Supplement with a probiotic.  Probiotics are all about getting/keeping your gut healthy.  This in turn has an impact on your health, your brain and your moods.  There are so many benefits of taking probiotic, I highly recommend it, but be sure sure that it is pure high quality and not a bunch of fillers in it.

Sleep is very important to reduce stress levels: But when you are stressed it seems sleep can be so evasive.  You’re exhausted so you go to bed but as soon as your head hits the pillow your mind is going a thousand miles an hour.  Try these before bed:

–Stay off any screens for 1 hour before bed.

–No caffeine in the afternoon or evening

–Sleep schedule, try to go to bed and get up at the same time each day.

Pray/Meditate, especially before bed, it’s amazing how well this calms your mind and helps you be centred.  Just be sure you are meditating on good positive thoughts!

Stretch. Each week over on WBN facebook coach Colette is sharing great stretches that you can do at home, these will help you rest peacefully.

Don’t let COVID19 make you sick, not even a little.  Try to make the best of this time and through this you will grow even more resilience and strength of character so you and your family come out even better than before it!

Stay well my friend, and please hop on next Saturday when I share how to adjust your mindset and fun things you can do it make it enjoyable!
